Where are you based?

 

We are based in Belconnen, but we service all areas of Canberra, Queanbeyan and nearby rural areas.

 

What type of plumbing work do you do?

We focus on residential plumbing maintenance work. That is, if anything water related goes wrong in your home, we can fix it for you. We also install or disconnect gas appliances such as cook tops and continuous flow hot water systems.

Who are your main customers?

Because we specialise in residential plumbing maintenance, our focus is on homeowners, landlords and property managers.

Are you insured?

Just a Plumber maintains insurance for $20 million public liability and Workers Compensation insurance covering all staff.

Are your plumbers properly licensed?

Definitely. Just a Plumber is licensed by ACTPLA in the ACT, and by the NSW Department of Fair Trading in NSW.

Do your plumbers have the right qualifications and training?

We certainly do! Emmett is a fully licensed plumber, drainer and gasfitter.

Is Just a Plumber a member of an industry association?

Yes. We are a member of the Master Plumbers, Drainers and Gasfitters Association of the ACT (MPA). This means we are subject to a Code of Conduct and provides you with an avenue to raise and resolve any issues you might have with our work, charges or behaviour.

Do your plumbers present professionally?

Yes. We wear a uniform displaying our logo and our first name. We introduce ourselves and remove our shoes before entering your home.

What are your working hours?

Office hours are 7.30 am to 5.00 pm. Standard working hours for plumbing maintenance work are from 7.30 to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday. We are available on weekends for emergencies. An after hours surcharge will apply.

Can I make an appointment for a plumber?

Yes, we prefer to make timed appointments. Just call our office on 0417 411 487 (or 6286 9149) and we’ll work out a convenient time for a plumber to call. If you prefer, we can arrange to give you a call half an hour ahead of our expected arrival to give you time to get home.

What information do you need from me when I call you?

We need your name (first name and family name), residential address (and address of the job if it is different), contact phone numbers, and your email address (where possible we prefer to send invoices by email). We also need a good idea of what time of day suits you best, whether you need us to call you half an hour ahead of our expected arrival, if someone is not home during the day as a general rule.It will also be really helpful if you can give as much information as possible about the problem you are calling about. For example, how many and which taps are leaking; is the water from the cistern running into the toilet bowl, or is there water lying around the base of the toilet on the floor;  is there no hot water, or no water at all; if you suspect a blocked drain, is it the sewerage line or the storm water drain (eg what household activities seem to cause or exacerbate the problem).

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. All our work is warranted (except drain cleans), and all products supplied by us are warranted by the manufacturer.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cash, credit card (Visa and MasterCard only), cheque (by prior arrangement) and electronic funds transfer. We do not impose a surcharge for credit card payments.
